My Devine Supply Line – Ps Paul de Jong – 6th March 2022

“Experiencing God for yourself is a gamechanger.” – Paul de Jong

God is someone we can know personally, and as we journey through life we can look back and see moments or seasons that God showed himself to be true, trustworthy, and personal to us.

Ps Paul shares that a game-changing moment for him was when, as a teenager, he discovered that it’s not his (Ps Pauls) righteousness God is looking for, it’s His (Jesus) righteousness. That we are covered in a robe of righteousness, so when the enemy points to our weakness we can point him to Jesus and know that if we live in Him, His forgiveness is complete and surrounds us.

  • • When you reflect on your God journey this far, what have been some ‘game changer’ moments when God has revealed his purpose for you?

How we can discover ‘Our own divine supply line’

Ps Paul shares that another game changer moment was when he realised that in God we have unlimited potential.

1 Corinthians 2:9 However as it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”

We have unlimited God potential.

We might be limited in our physical now, limited in our skill set, we might be limited according to other people, but with God there is unlimited God potential.

God’s word says ‘Our eyes have not seen, our ears have not heard, our hearts have not comprehended what God can do’, yet often we find ourselves living under our human limitations. We might say ‘I have a good job, I’m doing ok…’ But Gods word says we haven’t even scratched the surface of what God can do when we encounter the divine supply line.

1 Corinthians 2:10 but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

The ways of God are not a natural transaction but rather given to us by the Spirit of God who searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Ps Paul challenges us that a lot of christians live under limitations because we don’t go deep enough ‘in to the supply line’ of the Holy Spirit. That we settle and limit our God potential to our human limitations. That we settle for ‘I have a good job, I’m doing ok…’

But God has so much more for you.

  • • The question for us is, are we tuning into the ‘divine supply line’ (what the Spirit of God reveals)? How does this look in our life? How do we hear from God daily?
  • • What currently fuels you? Does it draw you closer to God or away from him?

Pursuing a dedicated deeper dependence on God

Ps Paul shares how God asked him to build a church in Auckland, that he would have to raise $45million.. Ps Paul says ‘How God’ and the Holy Spirit answer was ‘deeper dependence’.

When challenges came up and people said no, it can’t happen, it won’t ever happen, the answer Ps Paul had was ‘deeper dependence’.

Ps Paul shares around his deeper dependence on God with healing in his body, but even greater than that, his dependence on God that if he’s time is up then he’s ready to go.

‘I’m not just dedicated to a God who does what I want when I want and how I want it. I’m dedicated to the God who heals and dedicated to the God who makes sovereign decisions because he is God’. – Paul de Jong

When Jesus walked the earth, we don’t read that he was impressed with church buildings or coffee! But that he desires his church to be a house of dependence, a house of prayer. REF: JESUS TURING TABLES.

  • • Would our prayers alert heaven to our dedicated dependence on God? (And not just what we want and how we want it)

Jeremiah 33:1 Message – Things you could never figure out on your own. While Jeremiah was still locked up in jail, a second Message from God was given to him: The God who made the earth, made it liveable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvellous & wonderous things that you could never figure out on your own.’

Activating truth

  1. 1. Have a word that God has given you for your season (encourage group to watch Ps Craig message ‘God has a word for you’) o Do you have a word from God? Do you stand on that word?
    1. 2. You are designed to take the truth you hear and put it into practice – don’t get distracted! How does God truth define how you live life & weather storms eg: your storms reveal your foundation. o Is the truth that God has revealed to you, your reality? Are you living your kingdom call?
