COMMUNITY

THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY

TD JAKES ‘If God really wants to bless you, he’ll send you someone you can do life with.’

We were never created to do life alone. In fact, community is God’s idea! It is His desire, plan, and purpose for us to do life together, grow in faith together and encourage each other in pursuing all the ways of God.

Our faith community is built on three things, Spiritual friends, Sacred moments, and Divine purpose.

The question is, do we have people in our lives that we need and that need us?

MY FAITH COMMUNITY FOSTERS SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS

  • Spiritual friendships are about finding connection with others on our faith journey. Spiritual friends trust in the same source as you. Read John 15:5-8
  • Spiritual friendship is a trusted space to be able to ask questions and share about how we are going in our life, faith, relationships, personal wellbeing etc. Read Job 2:11

Q. Are you a spiritual friend to someone and do you have spiritual friendships?

Q. How have you found connection? How would you encourage others to find spiritual friendships?

Q. What can stop us from committing to being a spiritual friend or having spiritual friendships?

MY FAITH COMMUNITY FOSTERS SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS AND ENGAGES SCARED MOMENTS

  • ‘I need people, and people need me!’ When we gather, sacred moments are fostered through conversations, meals shared, exploring scripture, or praying together. Read the story of the paralysed man in Mark 2
  • There are times that our friends will need out faith, and there will be times when we will need our friend’s faith. It’s incredible to know that our faith has the power to stir other people’s faith.

Q. Think about your faith journey so far, share moments that others have encouraged you in faith, or moments when you have encouraged others with your faith.

Q. How has your own faith grown because of spiritual friendships?

MY FAITH COMMUNITY FOSTERS SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS ANDD ENGAGES SCARED MOMENTS, AND FOCUSES DIVINE PURPOSE

  • Divine purpose extends beyond us, it is building Gods Kingdom together here on earth in our everyday living. Read Romans 12:1-2

 Q. What are some ways we can bring Kingdom purpose to others in our everyday living?

 Q. What next step do you need to take to put these 3 areas of community into place in your life?
