Community In Action

The current global pandemic has affected people in all kinds of ways.

Throughout LIFE, we believe this is a season for us to actively be the church to others and find new opportunities to show Gods' love and kindness to those around us.

This is a platform where ideas and stories from those within LIFE have been collected to inspire others in how we can reach and show kindness to our friends, our family, our neighbours and colleagues.

Our heart is that you would be encourged by the ideas shared below and inspired to outwork an act of kindness within the community. If you've got some great ideas that you've already put into action or have inspired you that are not listed below, then we'd love to hear them. Click the button at the bottom of this page to share

Reaching the community, together...

Hampers of Hope

Hampers of Hope

Throughout March and April, LIFE was able to source over 16,000 products from existing and new partnerships. Small teams of volunteers gathered across multiple days to pack a total of 1000 food hampers.
These Hampers of Hope were distributed via 23 organisations across Melbourne and via 60 families from LIFE to then land in the hands of those doing it tough because of Covid19.

Flowers for the Neighbourhood

Flowers for the Neighbourhood

Alana was in her garden trimming her plants and flowers when she had the thought that perhaps others may appreciate the off-cuts. With just a simple sign saying 'free off-cuts, please take some' out on the footpath, along with a few little take away buckets, her neighbours and those walking by were touched by her simple act of generosity.

Loving our Neighbours

Loving our Neighbours

"When the restrictions began the kids and I made handmade cards and gathered treats and baked chocolate cake and dropped them off on our neighbour’s doorsteps either side of us.
Since then we all talk more and they have dropped off surprises for our kids too!
We also take out and bring in our neighbour’s bins every week - it’s a good job for the kids to do and now it’s a bit of a race to see who gets them first each week."
